Walk in Wisdom!

Updated: Mar 31

The Bible states that wisdom is of utmost importance, it is the principal thing and reverence for the Lord is where wisdom begins (Prov. 9:10). Therefore, true wisdom originates from the fear of the Lord. Let's learn to walk in godly wisdom.

God's Women of Wisdom

God the Father is the only true wise God who is worthy of reverence and will give us godly wisdom.

Some people misunderstand "the fear of the Lord" in the Bible. To grasp this concept, study the scripture's context, audience, and historical language. This approach clarifies that "fear the Lord" means having deep respect, awe, and reverence for God, leading to wisdom and blessings.

Prioritizing wisdom unlocks knowledge and understanding, leading to a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. It reveals the true meaning of imitating God as dear children. While wisdom doesn't eliminate mistakes, it reduces their frequency.

Consider the Bible's insights on wisdom's benefits. Proverbs 9:10 states, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." Wisdom grants knowledge and understanding, helping us discern God's will and grasp the Bible's teachings. Proverbs 1:7 notes, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." We should avoid foolishness and strive to live in a way that pleases God. James 1:5 encourages us to ask for wisdom, which God gives freely.

Prov. 2:6-7,10-11, "For the LORD gives wisdom...He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous. When wisdom enters into the heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul; discretion shall preserve you and understanding shall keep you." What a marvelous promise!

Embracing godly wisdom encompasses much more; it bestows honor, wealth, and most importantly, brings glory to God. Although this topic could be explored extensively, I'll share a scripture that Jesus spoke personally, which we, as members of the body of Christ, should also make personal. This scripture is found in the Old Testament, Isaiah 11:2: "And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD." If Jesus needed to do it, we need to do it too.

Start proclaiming this scripture over yourself with dedication, and witness how it shapes your journey and fills your mind with wisdom. Let it guide you into a deeper relationship with God. Walk in Wisdom!
